How To Let Go and Still Love

I recently found out that the biggest thing that can trigger my stress is relationships. It can be my love relationship, it can be relationships with my family or my close friends. Constraints in my relationships have led me to depression in the past. But, I’m in a good place now and it is my goal to learn from those experiences and make good decisions in the future. Here are what I have learned on how to let go.

Talking about relationships, it takes two to tango. If you have friendships with people who have the same view about your relationship and actually are on the same page, it’s very good. But, sometimes (especially in adults relationships) you would have people who choose to not be in your life the way they used to be. I used to be hurt by this kind of actions. I come to realise that sometimes people make plans and choices in life that don’t include you. Even when this happen, we CAN still love them.

So, with the spirit of Valentine coming, I’d love to share what I learnt about love in the past year. Some relationships in my life started and some ended. It’s up to us to be able to accept that it is for the better and let it go. I’m such a control freak that sometimes I have to remind myself that I can not control people and their responses. I can love them by accepting and respecting their choices. The most important thing is to find your peace in the situation and be the light.

“Love is the strongest force the world possesses, and yet it is the humblest imaginable.” – Mahatma Gandhi.

For we are born out of love, I think it’s easily the driving force for us to keep on living and enjoying life. Let us choose to be free from the past. Be present in the life of those who love you and whom you love. Happy Valentine, enjoy love with your dearest and nearest.
