Nalu Bowls, Kemang, Jakarta.

I believe you are all familiar with this famous quote : “You are what you eat”.

So, I make a conscious choice of eating more healthy food and constantly try to find recipes or eateries that serve healthy food but still do justice to our taste buds. And here is one :

Nalu Bowls

Jl. Kemang Timur no. 69D

Jakarta, Indonesia.

Opening hours : 07.00 – 18.30

NALU is Hawaiian word for wave. Nalu Bowls opened their first outlets in Bali and quickly known as one of the first eateries in Bali that serve healthy food. Inspired by surfing, menus in Nalu Bowls are named after some of the most popular waves from around the world. I’m so excited that Nalu Bowls is now available in Jakarta and even planning further expansions for their 2nd and 3rd outlet here.

Eating healthy hasn’t been better, especially with homemade granola in every bowl they prepare! The smoothie is very refreshing and making eating healthy so much fun. When you finish a bowl, you’ll feel energized, you’re full but not stuffed. I really love eating here, not only because of the delicious food, but also because the place is filled with natural sunlight which is so relaxing.

Here are some of the menus I tried during my visit :

Pipeline (IDR 60.000)

Creamy yet fruity, this bowl is for coconut lovers (check that coconut flakes! And it got coconut water in the smoothie, too.)

Mavericks (IDR 85.000)

Nalu Bowls’ best selling, signature smoothie bowl and my personal favorite. I mean it has everything I love (acai, granola, banana, strawberry, coconut flakes and honey). Sweet and refreshing at the same time.

J-Bay (IDR 65.000)

This is a protein packed smoothie bowl with peanut butter, banana, honey and soy milk. A very suitable bowl for one who generally doesn’t like fruits. This is also the bowl to try if you are just starting out eating healthy.

I can’t help but recommend this place to you. Especially, if you are a health enthusiast. I would suggest you to eat here before or after exercise, if possible.
