Had The Best Ice Cream at Locarasa, Kota Tua, Jakarta.

Ice cream is one of the most effective mood booster for me. When I have a bad day, a good ice cream can always lift me up again. I have an ice cream date with my best friends about once a month to catch up on life. So it’s safe to say that I have tried many ice cream parlours and restaurants in Jakarta. Yet, I had the best ice cream at Locarasa, Kota Tua, Jakarta only last week! It’s not that the other restaurants aren’t good enough. No, they are great! I’m just bored with the usual flavours of ice cream, you know the chocolate, vanilla, earl grey, green tea, pistachio and friends.

Here, they have the most unique flavours. You can have the tamarillo, es doger, martabak, rujak aceh, kemangi (lemon basil), klapertart flavours, etc. But my personal favourite of all is the klepon flavour! It’s like eating the klepon rice cake balls in ice cream version. I’m head over heels in love with it.

Not only the unique Indonesian dish ice cream flavours that blew my mind, but I’m also in love with the place. You can’t possibly ask for a better place to enjoy ice cream. It’s located in Kota Tua (Old Town) of Jakarta. I spent a few hours before exploring the museums around Kota Tua, learning and fascinated with the culture and history that formed Jakarta, the city where I was born and grew up in. And afterwards, I enjoyed the best ice cream flavours in this charming old building. You can also eat traditional Indonesian noodle dishes here!

Now, some of you might ask about the pricing. Worry not, here it is :

Looking at that price, I can’t help but ordering the klepon, martabak and klapertart flavours. I mean it’s a good sensible price!
I highly recommend you to try if you haven’t. I had the best time!

It’s located in the Magic Art 3D Museum Jakarta building, once you step into the building it’s on your left.

I’d also love to share some photos when exploring the museums at Kota Tua. Enjoy!

Well, I believe that life is like an ice cream, we should enjoy it before it melts. Until next time!

Love,

Angelina.
