Last month, I had the chance to visit Singapore with Sadhu. We explored the neighbourhood of Tiong Bahru. The area is filled with quaint art deco shops, many food and lifestyle establishments. You can also see heritage places that offer ambience of traditional Singapore. If you are up for wonderful eateries, offbeat shopping and culture, it’s the place to be when visiting Singapore. Enjoy my photo diary of discovering Tiong Bahru, Singapore.
Tiong Bahru is the oldest housing estate in Singapore. While the older residents have lived in the area for decades, the younger generation comes here to enjoy the cozy cafes and shops.
If you want to taste the local food, I would personally recommend dining at Golden Spoon restaurant. Try their Coffee Ribs, it’s the most remarkable dish I ate there. The ribs were perfectly cooked with coffee, it’s very unique but delicious at the same time.
It’s up there on the list of my favourite memories during my Singapore trip. I can tell you nothing compares to walking around the neighbourhood of Tiong Bahru, where you can soak in the intriguing mix of the old and the new Singapore and fall in love with it.
