Called the Island of Gods, Bali is a world famous exotic holiday destination. And like everyone who has visited Bali, I never get enough of visiting the island (I live in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and Bali is a province of this country, approximately 2 hours flight from Jakarta). There are a few things that make me always miss Bali. The weather and pool days, the beaches, the hip cafes of Seminyak, the jungles and art galleries of Ubud, the cliff of Uluwatu, the snorkling experience in Candidasa, the warmth of Balinese people and of course the tasty food! And if you have visited Bali before, you must have known the famous babi guling dish a.k.a the suckling pig.
I recently visited this restaurant, Pig Hunter, for lunch.
Address : Jl. Danau Agung Utara, Blok E No. 3A, Sunter, Jakarta
This is a restaurant specialized in pork dishes. So, if you are a pork lover, do yourself a favor and go check it out. I have been coming back a few times for its Nasi Babi Guling (Suckling Pig served with rice). It’s such a comfort and effectively cure my longing for Bali and it’s food, every time. You can also try its pork knuckle. The food here is reasonably priced, too.
Understandably, I wear my white maxi dress, summer slippers, and my trusty sunglasses for the trip to this eatery. Suddenly, I feel like I’m in Bali eating my suckling pig lunch, all over again.
