If you have read my previous post A Few of My Favorite Things, you might know that I drink approximately 3 to 4 cups of tea daily. Today, I’m going to share my tea routine with you. Please keep in mind that this is a NON-SPONSORED post.
Normally, I drink tea in the morning (before I start my day), in the afternoon (at about 3 or 4 PM) and at night before bed.
- Morning Tea
I am a night owl, mornings are not the most optimum time for me to operate. I will start pretty slowly, except if there is tea to wake me up (Yes, tea. Not coffee. I am a tea person, you see). To start the day, I prefer to drink something classic and my choice of tea for the time of the day is : Twinings‘ Prince of Wales Tea.
It was originally created for Edward, Prince of Wales, later King Edward VIII. This blend of black Chinese tea is mild but has a strong aroma, enough to wake my senses and start my day.
2. Afternoon Tea
At about 3 or 4 PM, I usually take a break from my activities and drink my afternoon tea which is another one from Twinings‘ collection : Twinings’ Lady Grey.
I got it as a present. Lady Grey from Twinings is a lighter, more modern and fun version of the classic Earl Grey Tea. Lady Grey contains additional lemon, orange peel and citrus flavor, which refreshes me after doing my daily tasks.
3. Bedtime Tea
I almost always drink tea before bed. To be honest, it’s my favorite time of the day to enjoy tea. My current bedtime favorite is : Whittard‘s Regal Blend.
I also got this as a gift from dear friends who live in London, but the origin of this black tea is from my country Indonesia! Whittard designed Regal Blend to mark Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1887. It’s made with the combination of smooth, rich black tea blended with sumptuous Madagascan vanilla and red, white and blue flower petals. Not only visually invigorating, the aroma and taste of Regal Blend are amazing, too (kind of vanilla-like sweetness). It soothes and relaxes my senses after a long day. That is why I think Whittard’s Regal Blend is perfect for my bedtime tea.
Occasionally, I would change my tea routine with a fun flavored tea. My current super-sub is Lipton‘s Strawberry Tea. It’s a great alternative and contains real strawberries!
So, there you go. My daily tea routine :
Every blend of tea has its story, that’s why I enjoy drinking tea. I usually drink my tea hot and plain. I would occasionally add milk or sugar, too. How do you drink your tea?
