August 17th is Indonesia’s Independence Day. So the past week has been a celebration, not to mention that Indonesia won a mixed double badminton gold medal in Rio Olympics exactly on that day. Yes, the whole nation is caught in the commotion and being proud of these two athletes who gave this country their all and best efforts, who decided long time ago to follow their passion for the sport and just keep training and working hard.
I guest it’s the essence of independence, being free. We are given the freedom to be ourselves, to choose what we want to do and to be the best we can be. Don’t forget to free ourselves from hatred, grudge, and all the negative vibes that are breaking us from the inside. By all means, be free.
Here, I am wearing a batik (Indonesian traditional cloth) skirt, with wayang prints. Wayang is a Javanese puppet in traditional shadow puppet theaters and is a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity designated by UNESCO.
Also, a lovely lace top from Pull & Bear.
